Motorola Droid Turbo: Specs, Features and Price Review

The Droid Turbo is the latest phone from Motorola in partnership with Verizon. The device, though not as aesthetically pleasing as other phones in the market, has a lot of features which makes it a very powerful smartphone, and that greatly makes up for its utilitarian appearance.

The Motorola Droid Turbo comes in two variants—one with a rubberized Kevlar back, and one with a woven ballistic nylon back. It measures 5.65 x 2.89 x 0.44 inches and weighs 6.2 ounces. It has a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which results in bright and crisp images. The display is fully visible at every angle, and the color profiles are not overly saturated.

The smartphone is powered by a quad-core 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM. It runs on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat, though it will soon get an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

One thing that sets the phone apart from other devices is its camera. It is equipped with a 21-megapixel camera, and photos taken using the Droid Turbo look very clear. To use the camera, the Droid has its own camera app. To use, tap the screen to take the photo, then slide from the right to go to the Gallery.

However, the most impressive feature of the Droid Turbo is its battery life. The 3900mAH battery can run for 48 hours on a single charge. Those who love watching Youtube videos on their phone can get up to 7 hours and 13 minutes of playback on the Droid Turbo. Moreover, it is water-resistant and dustproof. All of these makes for a durable, practical and sturdy phone that will surely beat other better-looking phones out in the market.

The Droid Turbo is only available from Verizon and costs $199.99 with contract.
