Motorola Nexus 6 vs. Moto X2: Same Manufacturer, But Which Smartphone is Better?
Motorola is in for a great year ender with the release of a number of their products, including the new Nexus 6. While the Nexus 6 is technically Google's flagship smartphone line, Motorola still holds some credibility as the phone's manufacturer. Still, it's interesting to see how the Moto X (2014) and the Nexus 6 will fare against each other.
The Moto X (2014) is also known as the Moto X 2nd Gen, the Moto X2, and the Moto X+1 but for clarity's sake, we're going to use Moto X2, as its simpler.
First off, the screen size like always. The Moto X2 has a 5.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a full HD screen resolution (1920 x 1080). Apparently Motorola hasn't decided to make the switch to QHD displays but they have done so with the Nexus 6.

In terms of specs, the Moto X2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a quad-core 2.5GHz processor, and an Adreno 330 GPU. It has two storage options, the 16GB and the 32GB variants and 2GB of RAM. Unfortunately, there is no microSD card support for the Moto X.
It also has a 13-megapixel rear facing camera capable with a dual-LED flash, and an autofocus.
The Nexus 6 also goes by a few names, the Nexus X and the Motorola Shamu. For clarity's sake, Nexus 6 will be used.
The Nexus 6 is distinctively bigger than the Moto X2 with its 5.96-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a QHD screen resolution of 2560 x 1440. QHD screens have now caught on as a trend since the release of LG's G3 flagship phone, which was the first to have the QHD display.
Inside the Nexus 6 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a quad-core 2.7GHz processor and an Adreno 420 GPU. There's also two storage options for the Nexus 6, the 32GB and the 64GB variants with 3GB of RAM. Much like the Moto X2, the Nexus 6 also does not have microSD card support.
Both phones run on Android but the Moto X2 only currently runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat while the Nexus 6 comes out of the box with Google's new Android Lollipop. The Moto X2 will be upgradable to Android L though.
While both phones are made by Motorola, the Nexus 6 is clearly the more powerful phone between the two.
