Motorola to Release the Droid Razr Fighter?
Motorola is reportedly planning to release a new handset in the Droid Razr line that is now being called the Droid Razr Fighter.
Pictures of this new Razr recently surfaced on a Chinese language forum. The device, being called the Droid Razr Fighter, features a 4.6-inch 720p display similar to the screens featured on HTC's One and the 4.65-inch Galaxy Nexus.
The device that appears in the image also does not have physical capacitive buttons. This allows for Motorola to give it a larger screen.

It also features a smaller bezel. This Droid Razr Fighter could be the next-generation Razr smartphone to be released sometime this year. It is likely to launch on Verizon and be an LTE device as well as feature Google's latest operating system Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
Its predecessor, the Motorola Droid Razr should receive the ICS update in the coming months. The upgrades are slated to begin rolling out overseas between the months of April and June.
Motorola is still in the "evaluation and planning" phase with ICS upgrades for the Droid Razr in the U.S. It should launch in the states sometime in the summer.
The Droid Razr was listed as one of the first devices to receive Android 4.0 ever since its launch at the end of last year. It currently comes with Android 2.3, Gingerbread pre-installed. It was also voted as CNET's top smartphone of 2011.
The handset debuted as the "world's thinnest smartphone" being just 7.1mm thick. Whether Motorola will retain that title with this new Razr Fighter model is unclear at the moment.
However, the next Razr smartphone will have to go up against some harsh competitors including the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the new iPhone that are set to launch in the coming months.
