Moto G Turbo Edition Gets its Unveiling In Mexico

Smartphone users in Mexico were the very first to hear about a better Moto G version called the Moto G Turbo Edition when Motorola unveiled the device in the country. The budget-friendly Moto G is considered to be "one of the company's best-selling devices" because of its affordability and good enough specs, according to a Tech Times report. The Moto G Turbo Edition reportedly improves on its predecessor's processor and display, with its octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset and full HD display. The Moto G only has a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor.

The report said that the device will be available starting November 13 for a price tag of $283. It will initially be available in Mexico, but Motorola has yet to announce if it will be launched internationally.

Among the upgraded device's specs are a 5-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 as protection and a faster 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor that comes with 2 GB of RAM and an Adreno 405 GPU. Internal storage is at 16 GB with expandable storage support via microSD.

The device's cameras are a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter. Among its connectivity options are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3G and micro-USB. It also comes with dual-SIM capabilities and a 2,470 mAh battery. Unlike the Moto G, this version is equipped with Motorola Turbo Power quick charging. It will come pre-installed with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The device is also reportedly water-resistant, with IP67 certification for up to three feet for 30 minutes.

The Moto G Turbo Edition was announced in Mexico together with its unveiling of the Moto X Force, the international version of the Verizon exclusive Droid Turbo 2. The Moto G 2015 is selling its 1 GB RAM and 8 GB variant for $220, while the 2 GB RAM and 16 GB variant is selling for $255, according to Digital Trends.
