The Harry Potter cast took home their first Best Cast Award Sunday night, during the MTV Movie Awards.

While it has been 15 years since the first Harry Potter book was released and 11 years since the first film, Sunday night was the first night that the Harry Potter cast took home a Best Cast award.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Tom Felton were all nominated for the MTV Movie award, which was received by Watson, the only cast member present at the awards. She remarked that she had never received a reward on behalf of such a large amount of people before.

Harry Potter fans celebrated the first cast award for the popular movie series.

"Finally Harry Potter won are TTs. Yup... this is the only time Potter's won. Never bested anyone ever. Let's all go with that," the Dark Lord wrote on Twitter after the award was announced.

Other fans suggested that the award could have had a much greater title, and the cast would still be deserving of such an honor.

"If there was a 'Best Fandom' and 'Best Thing That Ever Happened To Mankind' award, Harry Potter would win that, hands down," Harry Potter Things tweeted. "Words cannot express how proud I am for Harry Potter. 10 years, 8 movies, #TeamPotter now, always, and until the very end."

Some users even added that they could never vote for new top favorites such as the "Twilight Saga" and "The Hunger Games" because of their loyalty to Harry Potter.

"I will never be Team Edward, Team Jacob, Team Peeta, or Team Gale. I WILL FOREVER BE #TEAMPOTTER" Tessa Netting tweeted.

Harry Potter however, still failed to win Movie of the Year, which went to "The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn Part 1."
