Musicnotes.com Signs Agreement With Word Music Group

The market’s leading digital sheet music provider will be adding content from Word Music Group to its online catalog of nearly 40,000 songs.

Musicnotes, Inc., the market’s leading digital sheet music provider, will be adding content from premier Christian music publisher Word Music Group to its online catalog of nearly 40,000 songs.

“We are very excited to be adding Word’s extensive catalogue to Musicnotes.com,” said Musicnotes’ Chairman Tim Reiland. “Christian sheet music represents one of the fastest growing areas of our business, and this agreement will allow Musicnotes to offer its customers a much broader selection of songs.”

Nashville-based Word Music is the printed music division of Word Entertainment, the parent company of Word Label Group, including Word Records, Fervent Records, and Myrrh Records. Word Entertainment’s artist roster includes such top Christian artists as Amy Grant, Big Daddy Weave, Jaci Velasquez, Nicole C. Mullen, Building 429, and BarlowGirl.

“Word Music has enjoyed a rich history of providing printed editions of our songs as they have been recorded across all genres of Christian and Gospel music,” said Word Music President, Don Cason. “We are thrilled to be able to see our catalog reach into some new areas for Christian consumers through a smartly-tuned digital distribution system like Musicnotes.”

Musicnotes.com’s addition of Word Music’s content to its database, which already offers digital sheet music from other major Christian music publishers such as EMI Christian, Brentwood-Benson and Integrity Music, is only the beginning of the website’s plans to further expand its Christian library in the near future, according to Reiland.

“We expect to double our current offering of almost 3,000 Christian titles over the next year,” he said.
