MWC 2015 Specs, Price News: 3 New Acer Liquid Series Smartphones

Taiwanese multinational tech company Acer, Inc. recently unveiled the three new additions to its popular Z-series smartphone lineup at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona.

A report from Phone Arena cited the new Acer Liquid Z220, Liquid Z520, and the Liquid Jade Z.

Liquid Z220 and Z520 is a pair of entry-level handsets from the company but both boast impressive specs.

As reported, Liquid Z220 arrives with a 4-inch WVGA (480x800) resolution screens with Snapdragon 200 as processor. The Z520, meanwhile, is 1 inch larger but with the same display resolution specs. Moreover, it runs on a relatively more powerful Snapdragon 400 SoC.

Both devices are shipped with slightly the same design and with 1GB of RAM and 2MP front snappers. The tech website however noted that the Z220 only has a 5MP primary camera whereas the other one dons an 8MP rear snapper and a DTS Studio Sound Speakers.

The two new Liquid Z phones also feature the basic modes of the latest Android OS 5.0 Lollipop including Basic Mode, Easy Mode and the Standard Mode.

Meanwhile, the Acer Liquid Jade Z offers a host of remarkable features. The LTE-ready smartphone comes with a 5-inch 720x1280 screen and a 64-bit Mediatek processor.

Selfie takers are also drawn towards the Liquid Jade's higher camera specs of 13MP (for main) and 5MP (for the secondary).

Design-wise, the new higher-end Acer device measures 7.9mm in dimension and weighs 110 grams. The unit is also seen with a curved Gorilla Glass 3 panel which is laid over a Zero Air Gap display.

The report further indicated that the three smartphones will be hitting the European market first. The Acer Liquid Z220 will arrive first with the Liquid Jade Z in March for €89 and €199 respectively. The Liquid Z520 comes at later date in April for €109.
