Naruto Sequel "Boruto" and Kishimoto's Latest One-Shot Manga on Mitsuke for Release Soon

Avid readers of "Naruto" will be overjoyed to find out that "Boruto," the sequel to their favorite manga story, will be coming out starting May 9 and will deal with the life of Boruto as a grown up, picking up the story after the timeline of the "Boruto: Naruto the Movie." Under the supervision of "Naruto" creator Masashi Kishimoto, the well-loved manga will be drawn by Mikie Ikemoto and written by Ukyo Kodachi, who also penned the "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" screenplay.

Inevitably, a character which is integral to the story of Boruto will also appear in the spin-off. Mitsuki, it is remembered, is a member of a trio composed of Boruto, Sarada, as well as Mitsuki. At Boruto's curiosity regarding Mitsuki's parents, he merely gets a short response from Mitsuki---who is mostly a quiet character---that Orochimaru is his parent, but the latter does not elaborate on whether the name indicates his father or his mother. Apparently, the subject of his mother is a sensitive matter with Mitsuki. Fans shall learn more of this and of Boruto's.

The latest manga on the spin-off will come out in Shueisha's 23rd issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump. Viz Media will be publishing the series in English simultaneously with digital Weekly Shonen Jump. Boruto's story will be published on a monthly basis by chapter. There is no indication though of how long the story will be. The manga will be in the usual rendition of black and white, but with a colored cover at kick-off.
