'Nashville' Season 3 Spoilers, Cast News: Christina Aguilera Joins Show
Yet another momma is coming to serenade the fans of "Nashville" Season 3.
A report from The Wrap indicated that pop icon Christina Aguilera will be joining the cast of the hit musical comedy TV drama series for a three-episode arc.
According to the media outlet, the mother of baby Summer Rain will play the character named Jade St. John, "a mainstream pop star who travels to Nashville with the hopes of making a splash in the country music world."
People.com offers a more in-depth character information of St. John saying that "she arrives to Nashville for a two-night stand at the Bridgestone, but her real dream is to record a country album – if only her label, who wants her to stay on brand as a pop star, would let her break out of her golden cage."
Enstarz meanwhile said in their article that the casting news didn't mention how the 34-year-old "Genie in a Bottle" performer would connect to any of the main characters. But given the multiple episode appearances, it is believed that she'll definitely "make an impact" on someone in the drama.
The "What a Girl Wants" singer is also bound to appear for the latest season of NBC's hit reality singing contest "The Voice" this Feb. 23 along with co-mentors Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Season 7's Pharrell Williams.
In addition, it was reported that the "Say Something" hitmaker is also set to produce a TV series for ABC Family as well as plans to record a new album.
"Nashville" Season 3 airs every Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
