Actress Natalie Portman is now a married woman. Portman exchanged vows with French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied on the coast of Big Sur, California on Saturday night.

The couple had been engaged for two years and finally wed surrounded by family and friends. Portman and Millepied met in 2009 on the set of her hit "Black Swan," and began dating soon after. The following year, they announced their engagement and the impending arrival of son Aleph.

On Saturday night, the couple exchanged vows in front of family and high-profile friends including Ivanka Trump and Macaulay Culkin. The two stood under a chuppah on the coast and took their vows as the sun set. No other details are known at this time, and perhaps won't be due to Portman's insistence on privacy.

Personal life "is something which comes first, always makes sense, and compared to the happiness of a successful family life, everything else is practically superficial," she told French magazine Madame Figaro. "I now how the possibility of taking on French nationality. It would accomplish the Francophile dreams of my father and myself," she added.

"I lived in Paris when I was 12 and my father gave me the name Natalie as an homage to Gilbert Becaud's song. Everything in my life has drawn me towards a French family," Portman explained.

Portman has enjoyed a successful career, with such hits as "V for Vendetta" and of course, the iconic role in "Dark Swan." She has always kept her personal life to herself and has been rather guarded throughout her relationship with Millepied. The couple did not even tell friends about their plan to exchange vows, according to one source.

The actress has no plans to slow down and has already begun work as a model for Dior. She is currently at work filming three movies, which are scheduled to be released in 2013.
