National Dog Day Celebrated With 'Furry' Apps

Today marks the eighth annual National Dog Day and people across America are celebrating the day dedicated to raising public awareness of animal cruelty.

National Dog Day highlights the large number of dogs in need of rescue every year and encourages people to seek canine companionship, and to consider all types – not just purebred dogs for those looking for a new “best-friend.”

In light of this special day here are some “doggy” apps for owners and those looking to own.

Another good app for owners and their canine friends is called “My Dog,” another free application that helps owners to care for their dog the way the pup would want them to, product-reviews.net wrote. Twitter users have been remembering their pups on this day:

“It’s National Dog Day? I LOVE MY DOG! RT if you have a dog? :)” @lovelive1D wrote.
