NBA 2015 News, Rumors: Dragic Under the Radar of Lakers, Rockets Want Consistent PG

As the annual NBA trade deadline approaches this Thursday, more teams are trying their best to get what they deem is lacking in their respective rosters.

As far as the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers are concerned, that missing piece is the starting point guard slot.

According to a report by Marc Stein of ESPN, the two popular squads may be pushing to land spitfire point guard Goran Dragic of the Phoenix Suns.

Dragic has been nothing but sensational this season, averaging 16.2 points and 4.1 assists each game, as he teams up with Eric Bledsoe in the Suns backcourt.

The Lakers, who are struggling in spite having Kobe Bryant in more than 30 games, are desperate to look for a spark plug that can give them a respectable exit this season.

Los Angeles currently holds the 14th spot in the Western Conference with a 13-40 win-loss record.

Unfortunately for purple and gold, the team is currently short on finances, and in the report by the Latino Post, they might just wait for the free agency at the end of the season, where Dragic will be a free agent.

Meanwhile, the Rockets are on a roll in the West as it continues to build up momentum toward the playoffs. Houston has recently acquired Josh Smith and Corey Brewer – two solid forwards this season to complement Dwight Howard in the paint.

In the report, Houston may be looking to get Dragic to play with its superstar guard James Harden.

Dragic already played with the Rockets during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons, before landing a spot on Phoenix's lineup.
