Jeremy Lin and Stephen Curry News for NBA 2016-17 Season Checkpoint: Top 3 Overrated vs Top 3 Underrated Players in the League

The NBA 2016-2017 season is just around the corner. Teams are now wrapping up their rosters and bracing for the brewing storm ahead. However, fans will narrow their attention to their favorite players in the league. Here is the presentation of the top three most overrated and antonym version in underrated territory.

Overrated First

Dwayne Wade has an exceptional performance last season with the Miami Heat. Wade would soon resume his career with his new team, the Chicago Bulls. However, since the Bulls has Jimmy Butler among their top guns from the arc, Wade is at risk of getting overshadowed. In comparison, Wade made a little over 15 percent from the last season.

Isaiah Thomas is the other overrated player and part of the notion came from himself. There is a truth behind Thomas' recent confident statement that he is among the elite point guards in the NBA. The thing is, Celtics don't have much option so there is a very limited reference on how IT will perform when pitted with other PGs and their scoring abilities.

Jeremy Lin will have much of opportunity with the Knicks this season and New York is going loco with the Linsanity bandwagon. The question that lingers now is how to continue his momentum from the Hornets last year. With Lin starting for the squad, huge pressure to brush the on and off performance is the greatest challenge he will face.

Then the Underrated

Nicola Vucevic is still in the list of lesser-known players in the NBA even after landing good stats for the Orlando Magic last season. Coach Scott Skiles gave him a tall order upon arrival in the squad to pull off a double and Vucevic did just that –with flying colors. Vucevic closed the season with 20 PPG, an elite 50 percent accuracy as well as ten grabs from the rim.

Tony Parker is always treading at the wrong time. Parker's tenure with the San Antonio Spurs was overshadowed by Tim Duncan and with Kahwi Leonard. Many are wondering on whether the selfless PG would be allowed to convert his stellar 53 percent shooting into an offensive dynamo.

Stephen Curry is not really an underdog in the NBA stars list, but he is top notch in the roster of underrated due to money issues. Hotshots and scoring records warrant huge payday but not in Curry's case. Curry is only receiving $11 million per year. Curry is underrated in a sense that there are several rookies who earns more than him. To say it frankly, two MVP awards, scoring titles, accuracy in threes and 30 points per game average is very undervalued.
