NBA 2K15 Gameplay, Roster Update Details: Former Baylor University Center Added as Playable Character

2K Sports announced this week the addition of a new player in the hit basketball simulation video game "NBA 2K15," according to reports.

The former Baylor Bears center Isaiah Austin is now added to the roster of NBA 2K15 and is accessible to play on all gaming platforms. The Austin character will be available as a playable free agent, Gamespot reported.

The initiative from 2K Sports is said to honor the said player after he was diagnosed of Marfan syndrome, a disorder that affects the skeletal system, cardiovascular system, the eyes, and skin.

Isaiah Austin was considered a first-round prospect in the 2014 NBA draft until he was diagnosed with the ailment. On June 26, 2014, Commissioner Adam Silver made Austin a ceremonial pick to "fulfill his dream" of getting drafted in the league.

The crowd present during the 15th and 16th pick gave the athlete a standing ovation as he walked towards the podium.

NBA 2K15 gamers can use their emerald card to get the roster update pack and add Austin onto their team as a free agent. He can also be added in the MyTEAM mode.

Gamespot went on to report that Austin fans can also see him getting featured on this week's episode of NBA2K TV. He will be shown in the game wearing his goggles.

SBNation.com meanwhile cited Isaiah Austin's announcement on Twitter.

"Thank you @NBA2K and @Ronnie2K I cannot thank you enough for this honor and blessing!" Austin tweeted.

NBA 2K15 was launched on Oct. 7 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
