NBA Finals News 2015: What's Next for Warriors After Capturing First NBA Title in 40 Years?

When everyone found out that it will only be Lebron James and a hurt Kyrie Irving who will go up against a solid Warriors team, the odds were immediately in Golden State's favor. That expectation rose higher when Irving underwent surgery that sidelined him for the rest of the series.

However, LeBron James had other things in mind, and he kept the series as close as it can get, smashing NBA Finals records and making history for himself.

Unfortunately, the insertion of Andre Iguodala in the starting lineup did it for the Dubs, who have just won their first championship in the last 40 years.

If you're wondering how long was that title drought, consider this: Rick Barry, who was the Finals MVP in the 1975 championship series where the Warriors won, is now 71 years old. While waiting for Golden State to capture another title, Barry has coached in a handful of national basketball tournaments and became a broadcaster and a host.

Now that Golden State has finally brought home the trophy after those decades of waiting, what's waiting for them?

The Warriors' have often been compared with the San Antonio Spurs when they won the title last year, and it is mostly due to both teams' emphasis on outside shooting and ball movement. However, there's one major factor that separates the two -- age.

While the Spurs' stars are already in their early to late 30s, the Warriors' star players are still in their 20s. As a result, management will most likely keep most of the players, and the only name that is coming up the trade rumor is David Lee, who is reportedly cooperating with the Dubs' management in looking for a team for next season.

Golden State would most definitely keep the player who usurped Lee's starting position, Draymond Green, because he has become an emotional cornerstone for the Warriors on the court.
