The two-time NBA Finals MVP will be taking the rest of the week to decide on an impending surgery to correct the medical issue. Bryant will meet another team doctor, Neal ElAttrache, this Monday for a second opinion.

As stated by the report, the shooting guard felt the shoulder tear during the second half of Wednesday night's game with New Orleans Pelicans, in which they lost 96-80.

Sources close to the athlete told ESPN that Bryant had already been dealing with the injury before the season started.

"Yeah, I'm worried," Lakers coach Byron Scott said. "We all in the organization are worried about it."

"It felt fine when I went up, didn't feel too good when I came down," the basketball icon told reporters.

Bryant had over 35 games this season where he averaged at 22.3 points on a career-low 37.3 percent shooting as well as 5.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists.

His previous reported injuries include an Achilles tear in April 2013 which was followed in December with a knee fracture.
