NBA News: Indiana Pacers' Paul George Injury News, Update

National Basketball Association franchise Indiana Pacers was stricken with worries and fear for their star player, Paul George, when he was carried off court by teammates halfway into the fourth quarter of the game with the Memphis Grizzlies this Wednesday.

A report from Indy Star indicated that the 24-year-old forward has suffered an injury in his left leg.

"I just felt it," George said. "I knew it wasn't nothing good. Just came off a screen and felt a pop. ... It wasn't a knee injury, but it's tough, you work so hard in rehab and have something else pop up. The good thing is, I know we've got a long summer and a lot to look forward to."

It remains to be seen if the player would undergo an MRI after the incident.

"It's motivation just to get back to who I was but I'm going to be smart about it," George added. "I don't know whether it was overcompensating being on the left or what but I'm motivated to make sure that this right leg is strong as my left, so nothing like this pops up again. It is frustrating but the good thing is I have a whole summer ahead of me and a lot to look forward to working out."

Pacers coach Frank Vogel meanwhile told the press that the incident was "nothing serious."

"He got kicked pretty strongly in his calf, and it caused a calf strain," Vogel said.

George returned to the action this April 5 after undergoing two surgeries and months of rehabilitation to strengthen his right leg which got broke during a Las Vegas scrimmage in Aug. 1 of last year for Team USA.

The 2X NBA All-Star player has reportedly been seen joining to the team's practice sessions in late February.

The 95-83 loss with the Grizzlies eliminated the Pacers from the playoff race this season.
