NBA News: San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker OK for Game 2 Against LA Clippers

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker suffered injuries in his left ankle and thigh in the first quarter of Sunday's 107-92 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. However, these issues won't hold him from playing this Wednesday's Game 2 for the Western Conference playoffs.

"He tweaked his ankle. He retaped it, and he's fine," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich told ESPN. "He'll be ready to play on Wednesday, but he did tweak it."

As detailed by the report, the 32-year-old six-time NBA All-Star player suffered the said injury defending Clippers' power forward, Blake Griffin.

"I'm OK," he told reporters after the game Bleacher Report. "I twisted my ankle at the beginning of the game. Obviously you don't want to start a playoff series like that."

When asked if he can continue with the campaign, Parker said that he will definitely play through.

"Yeah, same thing. It'll be sore tomorrow. But hey, nobody cares," Parker added, per ESPN's Michael C. Wright. "Wednesday, we have to come and play. That definitely helps [the Spurs won't be practicing again until Tuesday] because it will be sore tomorrow. Hopefully by Wednesday, hopefully, I'll be fine."

Parker garnered 10 points that game with one assist and two rebounds.

Meanwhile, a report from LA Times indicated that Spurs' center Tiaggo Splitter will also be playing for the second game in the best-of-seven-series with the Clippers.

Splitter has been dealing with a right calf injury for six regular season-games and has just resumed by playing 10 minutes in Sunday's game.

"He didn't go backwards, so that's a good thing," Popovich said about Splitter. "Maybe he can play a few more minutes (Wednesday) night, I'm hoping."

The Spurs are eyeing to tie the 0-1 standing with Clippers. After Staples Center, Games 3 and 4 will be held at the San Antonio court.
