NBA Trade News 2016: Suns Sign Jordan McRae To 10-Day Contract; Magic Willing To Trade Forward Tobias Harris

The Phoenix Suns decided to sign another player for a short-term contract, this time shooting guard Jordan McRae.

In a report by NBA.com, the 24-year-old McRae signed his first 10-day contract on January 29th. He recently signed his second 10-day contract last February 8. He is the second player to be signed to a short-term deal, with Orlando Johnson being the first one.

McRae was originally a second round pick (58th overall) by the San Antonio Spurs in 2014. However, he was immediately traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on the same night he was drafted, and later joined the team during the 2014 NBA Summer League. He then left the NBA to play for Melbourne United at the National Basketball League, where he found more success.

After being signed in August, McRae was then awarded with the Player of the Month honors in December of the said year. After spending a year with Melbourne United, McRae went back to the United States to play for D-League team the Delaware 87ers.

In July of the past year, he once again joined the NBA Summer League, when he suited up for the Philadelphia 76ers. And now, he's playing for the Phoenix Suns.

For the current season, McRae has already played in a total of six games with the Suns, so far. He is averaging 4.8 points, 1.0 rebounds, 0.3 steals and 1.2 assists, through 11.3 minutes of playing time per game.

Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic is looking to release 23-year-old forward Tobias Harris. According to a tweet by ESPN's Marc Stein, while the Magic has not yet made their final decision, they are already looking for other options.

"Orlando isn't outright shopping Tobias Harris, but word is the Magic aren't discouraging offers for him either," Stein's tweet reads.

Harris was a first round pick (19th overall) by the Charlotte Bobcats during the 2011 NBA draft, but was also traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. After spending two seasons with Milwaukee, he was signed by the Magic in February 2013, in a multi-trade deal.

For the current season, Harris has played in 49 games and is averaging 13.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, through 32.9 minutes of playing time per game.
