NBA Trade News: Kevin Garnett Heading Back to Minnesota, Dragic Brothers to Miami

Veteran Kevin Garnett is now heading back to his first NBA team while the Dragic brothers are joining Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat.

A report from Yahoo! Sports indicated that the deal with Thaddeus Young for Brooklyn Nets on Thursday would see Garnett playing back for Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 38-year-old athlete has spent the first 12 seasons of his career in the league with Minnesota. He was then traded to the Boston Celtics where he helped the team earn their first NBA championship since 1986. In 2013, the South Carolina native made his way to Brooklyn along with Celtics teammate Paul Pierce.

According to ESPN, the Wolves will have the 2004 MVP as a "mentor" for the franchise's new roster which includes Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio, Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Shabazz Muhammad, and Gorgui Dieng.

"He put the Minnesota Timberwolves all around the world," Rubio said of Garnett. "Even when I was in Europe and in Spain, I knew (about Minnesota) because KG was here. It's an honor to play with him and have him in the locker room."

Meanwhile, the sports news website also said that Phoenix Suns' Goran Dragic is coming over to the Miami Heat with brother Zoran.

"We are incredibly pleased to take another step in getting the Miami Heat back to real championship prominence with the acquisition of Goran Dragic," Heat president Pat Riley told ESPN. "Goran is an All-NBA player, including the Most Improved Player last season, and we felt that once he became available, we would do all that we could to acquire him."

Going to his social media, the elder Dragic expressed his thanks.

"Thank you to my fans, teammates and many friends in Phx!!" Dragic said in his Twitter account. "You are what made #cluborange a 2nd home for me and my family! The Suns organization has been good to me and I hope everyone knows I'd never say or do anything to purposely offend or minimize the success we've had."
