NBA Trade Rumors 2015: Houston Rockets' Dwight Howard Headed To The NY Knicks, Bulls' John Paxson Addresses Rumors

Houston Rockets big man Dwight Howard is purportedly involved in a three-team deal that could potentially land him a spot in the New York Knicks.

In a report by Danny Cox of The Inquisitr, the said transaction is expected to happen before the NBA trade deadline in February. The proposal involves the Rockets acquiring the services of the Pelicans' center Omer Asik and power forward Ryan Anderson.

The report adds that the Rockets would also get forward Derrick Williams and point guard Jose Calderon from the New York Knicks. The Knicks, in turn, would get Howard and forward Luke Babbitt from the Pelicans. To seal the trade, the Pelicans would then get wingman KJ McDaniels from the Rockets, and Kyle O'Quinn, Terence Jones and Robin Lopez from the Knicks.

Multiple reports about Howard's dissatisfaction with his role with Houston have been surfacing for the past weeks. In a mid-December report by FOX Sports, Howard's unhappiness was said to be caused by being "second fiddle" to fellow big man James Harden.

Howard is currently logging in 31.0 minutes per game, and is piling in 12.6 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, 1.4 assists, and 3.5 steals. The Rockets are currently at the seventh spot of the Western Conference standings with a 16-16 record.

Meanwhile, Chicago Bulls Vice President of Basketball operations John Paxson recently made a rare media appearance to address the team's trade rumors.

In a report by Blog A Bull, the former Bulls point guard discussed the trade opportunities for wingman Tony Snell, whom he says "needs to play better" and "with some more consistency."

"Young guys need to take advantage of their opportunities," Paxson said in an interview with David Schuster on the Score 670. "We need Tony to step up and do that on occasion."

Paxson adds that he expects the team management to be ready with their decisions before February's trade deadline.
