NBA trade rumors: Chris Andersen shrugs off uncertain future with the Heat

While there have been several rumors that Chris Andersen will be traded anytime soon, the veteran Miami Heat forward has made it clear that he is not bothered by the rumors or the uncertainty of his stay with the team since he is eyeing preparations for the 2016 NBA games.

The team has already made a number of trades during the off-season and is reported to be considering the trade of Andersen before the trade deadline on February, to avoid dishing out a big chunk of tax money.

With three years on his record spent with the Heat, Andersen has a year left in his contract worth $5 million.

In an interview with the Sun Sentinel, the 37-year-old forward said he was okay with Miami trading him before the deadline, but he also clarified that the team's roster moves during off-season don't necessarily mean that he will also be among the players to be traded.

Coming in defense of his team, Andersen said the Heat's higher-ups just wanted to make sure that the former NBA kings would bounce back this coming season after suffering the loss of LeBron James.

"It's all about progression, man," Andersen said, adding that "We're trying to improve ourselves and make sure that we set a precedent of coming into the league this season with a mindset of winning. And I think the guys and the moves that we made are heading in the right direction for us to accomplish our goals."

Meanwhile, some experts deem that Andersen could indeed be saying his good-byes to his teammates since he was only a good asset to Miami as Amar'e Stoudemire actually has the capacity to replace Andersen's place come the rotation.

Andersen isn't the only being put by rumors in hot waters as news emerged earlier this month that former starting point Mario Chalmers will also be in the rotation before the trade deadline.

According to reports, if the team successfully lets go of the two, they have the tendecy to go below the tax threshold.
