NBA Trade Rumors: Oklahoma Thunders Eyeing DeAndre Jordan in Exchange for Steven Adams

While the inclusion of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony in Oklahoma Thunder's roster of players in the NBA 2017-2018 season are already expected to boost its performance, rumors claim that the team is not done beefing up its line up yet as it is also said to be targeting DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Steven Adams.

Basketball pundits believe that the Thunders have bolstered its chances of winning in the upcoming NBA 2017-2018 season with the acquisition of George and Anthony. For many basketball aficionados, the team can now give the current NBA champion, the Golden State Warriors, a run for their money.

However, rumors claim that the Thunders are not done with strengthening their lineup as, allegedly, they are willing to let go of Adams and trade him for Jordan. Reportedly, in the event that the Clippers continue to deliver poorly in the upcoming season of the NBA, they will not hesitate to drop Jordan in exchange for Adams.

While nothing is confirmed as of this writing, it is believed that the trade of the two players will be beneficial for both the Thunders and the Clippers. Unconfirmed reports claim that Jordan will be eligible for a maximum salary of $35 million in 2018 free agency. In the event that Clippers will not pay Jordan, they could swap his contract with that of Adams, whose contract, on the other hand, is not expected to expire until 2021.

Between the Thunders and the Clippers, though, it is suggested that it will be the former that will benefit more from the trade in the event that it happens. While Jordan's skillsets are comparable to those of Adams, pundits point out that Jordan is the better center. After all, in the 81 games that he took part in the previous season, he delivered an average of 12.7 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks and a 71.4 percent shooting from the field.

However, it seems that it is not only the Thunders who are eyeing to get Jordan on their side. According to other sources, the Washington Wizards may also vie for Jordan's services, although there is also a possibility for him to stick it out with the Clippers as he and his current team are still on the negotiation table regarding his possible contract extension.
