'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 8 Spoilers, News: Hetty and Granger Removed as Leaders of the Team; Premiere Date Moved Up

A change of the team's leadership will be ordered because of the unknown mole in the organization.

A two-hour premiere will mark the return of "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 on air. Initially slated for October 2, the premiere has been moved up and will now be on September 25, Sunday.

Back to back episode premiere

It was announced that the two episodes in the premiere are titled "High Value Target" and "Belly of the Beast". From the titles alone, it looks like the team will be up against formidable criminals and intense action is to be expected immediately in the "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 premiere.

The change in the premiere date may have gotten fans to ask why. It was because of CBS' decision to make "The Case of JonBenet Ramsey" to just a four hour series instead of six. This left the September 25 slot open after the documentary miniseries' airing and prompted the network to move the "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 a week earlier than previously announced.

A change in leadership

Spoilers for "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 reveals that the first episode will show a change in leadership. In the last season's finale, someone in the team was suspected to being a mole. For this reason, Corbin Duggan (Jackson Hurst), the Under Secretary of Defense, will be insisting a change in the NCIS team leadership this new season. This is for the failure of the team to identify who among them is the mole in the department.

Mission to Syria

Fans should therefore prepare themselves that Hetty (Linda Hunt) and Granger (Miguel Ferrer) will not lead the team as it embarks on its eighth year. "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 will also feature the team on an overseas assignment to Syria. Spoilers say however that their mission will not go as planned, leaving one of the team members severely injured.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 speculations say that the team member will be Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), who it has been earlier teased will go through a life altering situation. In real life, Ruah needed some time off from the series to give birth.

Romantic couples

Meanwhile, "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 spoilers say that an engagement might be in the offing for Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) after they decided to move in together towards the end of last season.

G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) is also said to be getting romantically involved for the first time in the series. If the spoilers for "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 are anything to go by, Callen will fall in love with Arkady Kolcheck's daughter, Anna (Bar Paly).

It can be recalled that Anna first appeared in a Season 6 episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" where she was able to work closely with Callen on a rescue mission for her father. It appears that sparks flew between them in the course of the mission. They may be able to know each other better or even date in the upcoming season.

The back to back episodes of the "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 premiere will air on September 25, Sunday, on CBS.
