The previous episode began with Tim and Bishop as they looked at an old photo of Gibbs and tried to analyze why he had changed. A DEA agent named Luis asked for the team's help on a case that involved a drug lord named Benson Long and a marine named Garrett.

Tony had been on the outside of the case originally. Tony noticed that Gibbs was going out of his way to help Luis. He discovered that Luis is the son of the agent who died trying to protect his family. He tells Tim and Bishop about the connection between Gibbs and Luis.

Tim felt uncomfortable around Luis ever since he was called buddy by the other dude. Things got worse after Tim shot a person of interest in an effort to save Luis' life. Bishop discovered that Benson was the one who ordered Gibbs' family to be killed.

Gibbs stopped Luis from killing Benson and they got him after he had confessed to ordering the hit on their families through the hidden recorder that was inside the poker caddy. In the end, Gibbs joined Luis as he threw his father's ashes into the water.

"NCIS" airs every Tuesday.
