'Need for Speed' Game Reboot News: A New Take on the Racing Game Confirmed by EA for a Fall 2015 Release

Electronic Arts has just confirmed that there will be a new "Need for Speed" game coming this year which they will first unveil at E3 next month.

A report from Game & Guide cited Ben Walke, the publisher's Content and Community Manager, who gave a press release at the official PlayStation Update blog site.

Along with Walke's statement comes a slew of high definition screen shots probably taken from the promotional video of the game which they will likely to feature in the coming event.

The high-definition images show a couple of cars in the street, one of which is a gray-colored Mustang.

"Every day someone proudly proclaims that we simply must have customization in the next Need for Speed game, so that's exactly what you'll have. When Need for Speed launches later this year you'll be able to fully customize a car, in the process turning it into a truly unique resident of your garage," Walke's statement reads.

The EA officer went on to mention the company's collaboration with the people from Speedhunters as well as of the fans in the NFS community who helped them recreate the hit racing game.

Walke gives his assurance that the new Need of Speed "will unleash a passion for cars and speed" which is grounded "in authentic car culture by diving into the world of past, present, and emergent trends of the urban car scene."

"With more than 20 years of history in its rear view mirror, we're bringing Need for Speed back with a reboot that delivers on what Need for Speed stands for — rich customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that drives your Need for Speed experience," he went on to say.

The game is slated for a Fall 2015 release on PC, and current-gen game consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
