Netflix New Movies March 2015: Netflix Releasing 'Inspector Gadget' and 'Danger Mouse' (VIDEO)

Netflix has announced it is resurrecting old childhood favorites, "Inspector Gadget" and "Danger Mouse" to expand its kids' programming.

On-demand online streaming media provider Netflix has just made the announcement it will be exclusively rebooting "Inspector Gadget" and "Danger Mouse" just a day after Disney posted news it will be releasing its own remake of "Ducktails."

The subscription based service is currently expanding its children's programming and will be adding five new shows to its timeslot.

"Inspector Gadget," an animated adventure series from the early 80's features a clumsy and dim-witted human/cyborg detective on a quest to stop his nemesis, Dr. Claw from taking over the world with his global crime organization, M.A.D.

A remake of the series, with Inspector Gadget in CGI form and equipped with more advanced gadgets in keeping with his 21st century viewers, has already been released in Europe, and will begin streaming in the US on March 27. The bumbling inspector will appear in 26 episodes to reach a new generation of fans on Netflix.

"Danger Mouse," a 1981 to 1992 British animated children's series stars an English secret agent mouse in a James Bond parody. Netflix will be rebooting the spy rodent in 26 episodes to premier next spring.

Netflix will also be adding three more children's shows: the live action "Some Assembly Required" about a young teen who becomes a toy company CEO, "Bottersnikes & Gumbles," an animated series about fictitious creatures based on the children's book series by S.A. Wakefield, and "Super 4," a sci-fi animation featuring four superheroes in a war against the bad guys on their home planet.
