Netflix New Releases October 2017: 'Stranger Things' Season 2, 'Cult of Chucky' and More

Netflix will take care of its subscribers' Halloween fix next month with a slew of exciting new releases coming to the streaming giant for the month of October.

Starting with the big one, "Stranger Things" season 2 will be available to binge-watch starting Oct. 27, continuing the story of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and friends as they further uncover the secrets of the Upside Down.

To keep fans in the spirit of Halloween, Netflix also throws in a litany of thriller and horror films including "Cult of Chucky," the latest film in the slasher horror series, available to stream Oct. 3, and the iconic Jake Gyllenhaal starrer "Donnie Darko" coming Oct. 11.

A crop of Netflix original series and movies will also drop this October such as "Skylanders Academy" season 2 out on Oct. 6 and the documentary "The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson," which focuses on the investigation of the death of the transgender legend.

"Voltron: Legendary Defender" season 4 premieres on Oct. 13 along with the first season of "Mindhunter," a new Netflix series that follows an agent in the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit who develops profiling techniques as he pursues notorious serial killers and rapists. On the same day, the Netflix horror comedy "The Babysitter" starring Bella Thorne and Robbie Amell will also hit the streaming giant.

The new season of "Slasher: Guilty Party" will be out on Oct. 17. On Oct. 20, "Haters Back Off" season 2 premieres alongside the Stephen King adaptation "1922" and the documentary "One of Us," which follows three Hasidic Jews as they leave their ultra-Orthodox community to join the secular world.

"The Day I Met El Chapo: The Kate del Castillo Story" drops Oct. 20 on Netflix along with another original "Wheelman." The Quentin Tarantino film "The Hateful Eight" will be added come Oct. 27. Check out the complete list here.
