New '100-Minute Bible' Launches in England

According to the Agence France-Presse (AFP), Rev Michael Hinton from Church of England and publishers of the 100-Minute Press, launched "100-Minute Bible" on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Canterbury Cathedral in southern England.
The book is specifically designed for adult readers who want to know more about Christianity but don't have the time to read the original version.

The Rev. Hinton, who spent more than two years writing the Bible said, "We have majored on Jesus, because he is the central figure in the Bible."
Hinton added that the Bible contains all well-known stories, including Noah's Ark and Jonah among others, BBC reported.
According to a statement on the publishers' web site, the Bible outlines "the ups and downs of the history of his nation, the Jews. It then proceeds to record the story of the growth of Christianity during the first century; firstly amongst the Jews themselves; then amongst the other peoples living in Israel and then throughout the eastern Mediterranean, even as far as Rome."
According to BBC, over 11,000 copies of the 100-Minute Bible have been printed to be distributed to churches and schools.
Len Budd from the 100-Minute Press said, "This is a book for adults and has been written in a style to encourage readers to keep turning the pages, but without resorting to any literary gimmicks," AFP reported.
The publishing firm is expecting that the 100-Minute Bible will be a bestseller like the original version, BBC reported.
