In Week 1 the Patriots need Tom Brady to help drag them over the finish line as the Buffalo Bills pushed them all the way. Trailing 21-20 in the fourth quarter, Brady completed seven total passes on the final drive to receiver Danny Amendola and running back Shane Vereen, which allowed them to set up a game-winning 35-yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski with just 5 seconds remaining.

Every team knows how important it is to get the season off with a victory, and even though most had the Patriots down to trash the Bills, the reality was an extremely tight contest where New England came out in front by a nose.

The Jets meanwhile had been written off and were supposed to lie down against the Buccaneers. However, they shocked everyone as rookie quarterback Geno Smith put together a game winning drive of his own. With the Jets staring an opening week loss in the face after surrendering the go-ahead field goal to Tampa Bay late in the fourth quarter, the Jets needed something to happen fast.

With only 34 seconds remaining and trailing 18-17, the former University of West Virginia standout led a game-winning drive. Dropping back to pass from his own 45, Smith realized he needed to improvise. Running downfield and toward the sideline, Smith went over the 10 yards but then also thanks to a late hit by David, the Jets were awarded 15 yards for the personal foul call.

That allowed kicker Nick Folk to drill a 48-yard field goal with only 2 second remaining, sending the Jets sideline into ecstasy and the Jets fans celebrating an unlikely victory.
