New York Giants vs New England Patriots takes place on Thursday night in Week 4 of the NFL preseason 2013 schedule, with the Giants needing to get back to winning ways after having a very disappointing preseason so far. Tonight's game will start at 7.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Giants come into this clash on the back of two straight losses, and if they make that three straight defeats tonight then it will be the worst kind of preparation for the regular season. They will be looking to get things back on track before they travel to the Dallas Cowboys for opening day on Sept. 8.
The Giants won this Week 1 preseason game on Aug. 10, 18-13 in Pittsburgh, however, since then they have been on the wrong side of two tight games; losing 12-20 to Indianapolis, and 21-24 to the New York Jets – both home games.
They go back on the road tonight to New England knowing that they must find that extra gear that can turn these close defeats into marginal wins.
Eli Manning will want to ramp things up; so far this preseason he has completed just 18 from 42 throws for 247 yards and 1 touchdown. That is below what he would expect from himself, and he will be desperate to gain more accuracy as we move into the regular season.
Meanwhile the Patriots come into this game following being completely annihilated by Detroit last week 9-40. Prior to that things had been looking good following two straight wins over Philadelphia and Tampa Bay, but the nature of last week's loss will have caused concerns. They too will want to get things right again before their opening game on the road against Buffalo.
