Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants takes place on Sunday in the NFL with the Giants clinging on to the possibility of making the playoffs. An horrendous run of form over the past two months has almost certainly ended the reigning Super Bowl champ's chances of defending their title in the postseason, however, technically there is still a chance. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

The Giants have been taken apart the past two weeks, first by the Atlanta Falcons then by the Ravens; losing by a combined score of 67-14. As a result they have fallen to 8-7 and need a lot of help to reach the playoffs.

Of course the first thing on the long list of things that must happen Sunday for the Giants to go through is they have to beat the Eagles.

In addition, the Cowboys must either lose or tie against the Washington Redskins.

Next, the Minnesota Vikings must lose to the Packers.

And finally the fourth and final thing that must happen is that the Chicago Bears must lose to the Detroit Lions.

Should any single one of those events fail to materialize then the Giants' season will end here today.

The Giants must first beat the Eagles, who will be inspired by a Michael Vick comeback. Although he has been out for weeks and may be rusty, he is likely to settle back into the routine quickly and could be one of the main problems for the Giants to deal with. However, should they come out on top some of the other things that must happen are not too far-fetched.

The Redskins will be playing at home in Washington knowing that they can claim the NFC East divisional title by beating the Cowboys. The Redskins have been on fire in recent weeks and there's no reason to believe they will not be giving it their all on Sunday. A Redskins win is probably more likely to happen than not.

Meanwhile, the Packers will also likely be going into Sunday's game all guns blazing. They will be on the road, but will know a win would clinch them the number 2 seed and a first round bye in the playoffs. That's definitely something worth playing for, and with the form the Packers have been in over recent weeks there is no doubting they are the favorites for that encounter with the Vikings.

However, it is the Bears vs Lions game that could be the major concern for the Giants. Even if all three of those other events takes place then they need the Bears to fall to the Lions.

The Giants will be hoping the Bears' dire form continues and that their offense continues to misfire on Sunday. The Lions have had a bad season but they have a lot of talent in their side and have the number 2 ranked pass offense in the NFL this season. If the Lions can complete the Bears' miserable run in to the season then maybe, just maybe, the Giants could sneak back into the playoffs.
