However, this should be a very tough series for both as they have key players that can change the game at any time and both are hungry for that first win of the series.

For the Islanders, they began their post season facing the Florida Panthers.

It was a tough series for them but they held on to get a 4-2 series victory.

They were tested, though, as in Game 6 of that series the two teams had to decide a winner with two extra periods.

New York found themselves down 1-0 after allowing Florida to score with less than two minutes left in the opening period.

However, they had some late magic of their own as John Tavares scored with less than a minute in the second period to tie the game.

The matchup would end at 1-1 and with no scoring in the first overtime period, it was in the second where Tavares found the back of the net again to score and give the Isles the ticket to the semis.

On the other hand, the Lightning are playing after a long layoff after they finished their first round series early against the Detroit Red Wings.

The series only lasted five games, with the Lightning taking care of business at home with a 1-0 victory.

And it was a late goal after Alex Killorn gave them the advantage less than two minutes left in the game to send them to the semis and now, a well-rested team will look to shake off any rust to get the first game at home.
