The New York Jets and the New England Patriots will clash in one of the biggest games on Sunday in the NFL. These two AFC East rivals will both be hoping to claim an important victory today, and especially the Jets will be desperate to continue their revival following last week's impressive win over the Indianapolis Colts. The game starts at 4.25 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on CBS. The game can also be watched online through live stream via the NFL Sunday Ticket through the link below.
In Week 6 the Jets bounced back from two consecutive losses to smash the Indianapolis Colts 35-9. They had previously struggled in their rush offense, but their ground game exploded into life last week, with Shonn Greene in particular shining. Greene ran for a career best 161 yards and three touchdowns, as the Colts had no answer to his powerful drives.
Greene will be an important player for the Jets today as both Joe McKnight and Bilal Powell left the field with injuries against the Colts last week. Powell is definitely out of this clash, and McKnight will be decided upon at the last minute to see if he can come through a fitness test on his high-ankle sprain.
Coach Rex Ryan has hinted that popular reserve quarterback Tim Tebow may be used in the running back role following the injuries.
The Jets' will have been preparing how to tackle the New England "no-huddle" offensive line up. The Patriots often rush into follow up plays limiting the defensive substitutions for opposition sides. So the Jets will have to be on the ball today and should not take their eyes from the Patriots high tempo offense.
The Patriots are currently ranked in the top five in the NFL for rushing offense. That has benefited the team greatly, as in past seasons they have been more heralded for their passing efficiency.
However, the weak point in the Patriots line up so far this season has been its defense. They are ranked just 28th in the league for pass defense, and if they cannot stem that flow then the Jets will believe they can take full advantage.
