New York Knicks NBA Trade Rumors: Team Determined to Trade Carmelo Anthony in Offseason
Trading Carmelo Anthony was always going to be difficult because of his no-trade clause. But it didn't stop the New York Knicks from shopping him around before the trade deadline last month. They may have failed to move him this season, but he's going to be on the trading block once again this summer.
According to ESPN's Ian Begley, the Knicks are determined to offload Anthony this offseason and the end of his tenure with the team seems imminent. Well, that's not really a surprise. Knicks president Phil Jackson tried to run the All-Star forward out of town with his passive-aggressive jabs and their relationship is clearly fractured.
Begley also mentioned that the Los Angeles Clippers are going to go after Anthony this offseason. "The market for Anthony this summer is unclear at the moment, but before the deadline, some members of the Los Angeles Clippers organization expressed confidence that they could trade for Anthony over the summer, per sources," he said in his report.

In an interview with the New York Post earlier this week, Anthony revealed that an opportunity to trade him to Clippers came up during the deadline. He did not elaborate on it, but it's clear that nothing happened since he's still wearing a Knicks uniform.
Has he ever thought of playing for the Clippers? Anthony said he hasn't, but he admitted that his family enjoys spending time in Los Angeles during the offseason.
"Over the years, I've grown to like it. I think as you get older, you start looking for places you can relax and enjoy and be good over the years. L.A. has been a place where my family feels comfortable at. We've been here for seven years now," Anthony said during the interview.
Well, the Clippers can't do anything right now since the trade deadline has already passed, but they will make some noise this offseason once Anthony is back on the trading block.
