New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics takes place in the Eastern Conference playoffs round one Game 2, with the Knicks looking to win two playoff games in the same year for the first time since 2000. The game is scheduled to tip off at 8 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Knicks team this season will be looking to do what no other Knicks team has done over the past 13 years; win two playoff games in the same year. Game 1 was a close affair but the Knicks managed to pull away in the final 12 minutes and forced the Celtics to turn the ball over an increasing amount. They also tightened their game when it came to the crunch, keeping the Celtics to just eight points in the final 12 minutes.
The Knicks were led by Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith in the scoring. They have been consistently the lead guys for New York throughout the season and they have continued that form into the playoffs.
The two players combined to score 51 of the team's 85 points, and both hit important baskets in the final minutes to help the Knicks home when it mattered.
The Celtics struggled to offense in Game with both Paul Peirce and Kevin Garnett missing 17 of their 27 total attempts and seven of their eight shots from three-point range.
Boston sorely missed the injured Rajon Rondo and they looked slightly blunted in attack without him. They will be looking to bounce back from the Game 1 defeat to tie up the series at 1-1 tonight and change the momentum.
"We know we've got to play through Kevin a lot more. I mean, he's probably, he is one of our best passers," Pierce said a day after Game One. "He's one of our most unselfish players, so we have to do a better job of just getting him the ball, a lot more than he got it yesterday. Doc said he wanted Kevin to be aggressive, he wants him to take 20 shots."
