The New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings will contest Game 2 of the NHL 2014 Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night, with the Kings looking to give themselves a bigger advantage after going 1-0 up in Game 1. Today's big game takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California and will start at 7 p.m. ET. The game can be watched on TV on the NBC network or online through free live stream (details below).

Game 1 was a competitive affair as both teams looked to get their noses out in front, and it was first blood to the Rangers as they managed to score two quick fire goals to go 2-0 up early on. However, the Kings did not panic and they pulled one back relatively quickly to get themselves back in it.

The second period saw the Kings find the equalizer and a goalless third period saw the game taken into overtime.

As the game wore on it was the Kings who slowly dominated more and more, and by the time it got towards the third period the Rangers were hanging on for overtime.

The Kings' superiority finally paid off in overtime when they scored to take the game 3-2.

The Kings managed to record 16 more shots than the Rangers in Game 1; with the Rangers only managing 27, where as Los Angeles posted 43. On shot attempts the Kings were also on top, although just by one, with the Kings having 64 shot attempts compared to the Rangers 63.

New York head coach Alain Vigneault said after Game 1: "One thing that's real evident to me, and it should be to our whole group, is we're not going to beat this team if we do not all bring our A-game. ... We had [Lundqvist] that brought his A-game last night. We had a couple guys. I don't want to name who I think brought their A-game. But our B-game won't do it. We're not going to win if we bring our B-game to the table," according to ESPN.

The Rangers must get right back on top of their game today. For the first 40 minutes of Game 1 the Rangers were equals with the Kings, but after that it was one way traffic and the Kings dominated. The Rangers must get back to how they played early on in Game 1 and fast, and they must make sure they maintain that intensity for the entire game – and the entire series – otherwise this Stanley Cup 2014 Finals series could be a short one!
