Nexus 10 2 Rumors: 8.9-inch Model to Replace It?
The Nexus 10 2 was supposed to be released in 2013, but ended up never seeing the light of day due to unknown reasons.
One of these reasons could be due to the fact Google is planning to replace it with a different-sized model which could measure in at 8.9-inches. Digitimes is reporting that Google is currently working on a Google Nexus 9 that could end up replacing either the Nexus 7 or Nexus 10.
It would actually make more sense to pull the Nexus 10 though since the 7-inch model has been extremely successful for the company. This new device could be unveiled as early as June 25th as Google's I/O conference will begin that week.

A previous report from Motoring Crunch claims that Google has hired HTC to create the new Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. There are also other sources who stated that the new Nexus 10 could be released before the end of Q3 2014.
The device is rumored to feature a nVidia Tegra 4 processor or as Qualcomm 800 Snapdragon, Adreno GPU 330, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front shooter, a 9500mAh battery and a 10-inch display with 2560 x 1600 resolution at 299 ppi.
News of the Nexus 10 being discontinued by Google also surfaced as a tweet from Russian blogger Elder Murtazin earlier this year confirmed this. The basis for this cancelation had to do with the company's decision to focus more on its Google Play Edition devices.
"Nexus line by Google is over in 2015 :) Yes- this line will be replaced by Play Edition," said Murtazin on Twitter. "Google won't be competitor in hardware for Samsung or any other brand. Moto is under question in that landscape. They will be reprofiled."
