Nexus 5 (2015) release date, specs news: Is LG G4 Pro the upcoming Nexus smartphone?

It cannot be denied that a lot of people are anticipating the unveiling of the Nexus 5 (2015). But one of the many questions about it still remains unanswered—is LG G4 Pro the new Nexus 5 (2015)? In a report by Android Pit, the site revealed that LG is in the works of building the upcoming Nexus smartphone, but contrary to popular belief, the device would not be based on the company's current flagship which is the LG G4 Pro. Instead, it will be based on a prototype that is until now kept under the wraps because it is still in development.

Why did many think that LG G4 Pro would be the new Nexus? According to the same source, the LG G4 Pro has been the "obvious choice as the blueprint for the next Nexus." But that's not the case for the Nexus 5 (2015). In fact, new rumors about the innovation has already started surfacing around the Internet.

Just this month, Twitter user Marques Brownlee posted a photo of the back panel of the phone, with the caption saying: "Apparently this is the new Nexus. Looks fine from this angle. Give us more, Mr Blurricam!"
In another source, Nexus 5 is rumored to run with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will feature a circular fingerprint scanner underneath the rear camera.

And fans are speculating that it looks like the second generation of Nexus 5 is coming very soon because Oppomart revealed in their website some rugged cases that had openings for both the camera and the fingerprint scanner, with a retail price of only 8.99 US dollars.

According to Neurogadget, people can expect to see the Nexus 5 (2015) in late fall. The speculated date is based on Google's usual launching season of new OS and devices to the market. Rumors say that the launch party this year will happen in October.
