Nexus 7 2 owners are experiencing problems with the device's GPS capabilities.

They are reporting that the tablet is having problems securing or maintaining a GPS connection with makes using navigation on the device a hassle.

Users have taken to forums such as Reddit, XDA and Google's Product Forums to express their disdain with the device. The GPS apparently works for a few minutes and then fails to lock in again.

Not all users are having this problem with the Nexus 7. A temporary fix for the loss of connection would be to reboot it. Uninstalling updates and changing to factory settings could also help. However, no solution works in every single case.

If the problem is software related it could be fixed with an update, but a hardware issue could really hurt the tablet and Asus.

The new Nexus 7 was unveiled at a Google press event last month. The tablet is simply branded as the new Nexus 7.The successor is a bit more powerful than the original and is reasonably priced at $229.
