NFL Rumors 2016: Michael Vick Believes He Still Can Play One Season

The NFL is awkwardly short in supply of quarterbacks, which is why whenever a player with good caliber becomes a free agent, there is constant talk in the press. This offseason, a large part of the attention has been directed towards Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III, at least after the Brock Osweiler drama ended. But one name that hasn't been really in the news for quite some time now is Michael Vick.

The 35-year old quarterback is a free agent who has endured 13 seasons in the league. And although interest in him has been scarce since the unproductive season in Pittsburgh, he believes he still has one more year left in him. In an interview with the Newport New Daily Press, he said that he is willing to play one more season if the situation requires. "I've got one more dedicated season in my blood, if somebody needs me to come in," he said.

It could have been a different scenario for Vick this year if only he was able to keep himself healthy during his one-season stint as a backup to Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh. The last time he appeared on the field in an actual game was in Week Six, where he started against the Arizona Cardinals. Though he went 3 out of 8 good for six yards, it was cut short because of a hamstring injury that forced him to leave the game. He eventually finished the season 40 of 66 for 371 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception, per Pro Football Talk.

But in free agency, the talk about him being pursued by any team has been very quiet. The first overall pick back in 2001 by the Atlanta Falcons had to endure all sorts of ups and downs in his career, but he definitely has something left in him, or at least that is what he believes in.
