Nick Cannon Talks Dating After Mariah Carey Split

Nick Cannon has admitted to being separated from estranged wife Mariah Carey after months of media speculation but insists he is not ready to date.

Carey, the 44-year-old singer, is said to be divorcing Cannon, the 34-year-old entertainment mogul and comedian, after six years of marriage and two 3-year-old children. While Cannon is working to cover up a tattoo of his wife's name with a massive image of Jesus Christ on his back, he insists that he is not thinking about moving on with another love interest.

"I'm dating no one. I'm not even ready for that right now," Cannon told CNN's Don Lemon recently. "I'm just trying to focus on my family and my children."

In a recent appearance on "Good Morning America," the mogul said he and Carey would spend the Christmas holiday together, continuing to call her a part of his family.

"We'll forever be family," Cannon said on the show. "At the same time, we're there for our children, making them the number one priority and understanding they're loved and can have an amazing holiday."

Earlier this year, he told Huffington Post Live that it is not always easy to discuss his personal business in the public eye.

"It's interesting because dealing with your personal life in the public eye and really, a lot of the time, public opinion is the harshest thing about it, so you kinda have to block out all that stuff, even coming and speaking about it and talking about it, because people are gonna have opinions and I always kinda came to that belief that, 'Hey, what people say about me is really none of my business,'" he said. "Or like, and if people truly feel like they need to be worried about my life, I think I tweeted something, I was like, 'Hey, don't worry about my life, worry about why you're worried about my life.'"
