The new hosts of the 2013 Miss USA pageant have been announced with a former teen heartthrob on the slate.
Nick Jonas of The Jonas Brothers and E! News' Giuliana Rancic will host Donald Trump's Miss USA pageant, which takes place on June 16. Winner of the pageant will go on to compete for Miss Universe.
Jones tweeted his excitement about becoming the host on Tuesday after the announcement was made.
"Excited that I will be hosting the 2013 #MissUSA pageant on 6/16 LIVE on @NBC at 9pm ET w/ @GiulianaRancic," the musician wrote.
Outside of a reunion with the Jonas Brothers last year and his new hosting gig, Jonas also announced earlier this year that he would be appearing in his first feature-length film. He was named as a member of the cast "Careful What You Wish For" in March. The role is Jonas' first lead acting gig. Jonas will be hosting Miss USA with Rancic, who also hosts a number of red carpet events in addition to her mainstay gig as the co-anchor of "E! News." Paula M. Shugart, President of The Miss Universe Organization, confirmed the news in a press release.
"We are excited to announce a veteran and a newcomer as hosts for this year's MISS USA Competition," she said. "The diverse backgrounds of Rancic and Jonas in the entertainment industry will bring a new and exciting energy to the stage."
After the reunion last year, the Jonas brothers began working on new music and have declared plans for a fifth studio album. But those who tune in to the pageant will have an opportunity for an exclusive preview. It was also announce that Jonas and his brothers would perform on stage during the pageant. The band has plans to go on tour with their new album next year.
