Nintendo Switch Stock: Toys 'R' Us Gets New Supplies

This weekend, people who failed to acquire Nintendo Switch upon launch day can make things right by visiting Toys "R" Us stores early on Saturday.

After waiting for several weeks since Nintendo Switch sold out shortly upon launch, online and physical retail stores are starting to announce the arrival of fresh units. In Toys "R" Us' case, the retail company advised gamers who wanted to ensure a Nintendo Switch unit for themselves to get up and stand in line early on Saturday, March 25.

Speaking to BGR through email, a Toys "R" Us representative said, "For those who may have missed out on the initial launch, Toys 'R' Us stores nationwide are receiving new shipments of Nintendo Switch this Saturday, March 25. ... We recommend customers get in line early, as we expect these units to be snapped up quickly when the doors open at 9am."

However, for other retail companies, it seemed like new batches are not meant to last as well.

In the case of Amazon, it looks like the online commerce company is still a little bit short on new Nintendo Switch stocks. Tech Radar reports that Amazon offered new units of the Nintendo Switch only to paying members of its Prime platform. The same report quoted Amazon's disclaimer in selling the new batches of Nintendo Switch, which says the console "ships from and [is] sold by Amazon.com exclusively for Prime members."

Despite the exclusivity, Tech Radar notes that Amazon's stock was sold in under an hour – 49 minutes to be exact – which is also interesting, considering that the said supplies came with the gray controllers. Apparently, since launch, more customers prefer the variants bundled with the neon red and neon blue controllers.

The same BGR report has also advised everyone that legitimate resellers of Nintendo Switch more likely post a price higher than Nintendo's regular $299 tag. TechRadar has also advised that gamers should not mind getting the gray controllers for now because Nintendo will separately sell the neon-colored ones in May.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, GameStop started selling the Nintendo Switch again and even opened a trade-in promo. Upon buying a new Nintendo Switch, customers can bring in their Nintendo 3DS or Wii U (-$150), PlayStation 4 (-$200) and Xbox One (-$175) to avail of the hybrid handheld console with the corresponding price cuts.
