'No Deal Yet,' on Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao Fight 2015

Floyd Mayweather denied reports claiming he agreed with Manny Pacquiao on the terms of their much-anticipated fight. Reports surfaced over the weekend said that both champion boxers have reached an agreement for a $250 million fight.

Philippine television network GMA News TV first reported the news citing an interview with Pacquiao himself. British publication The Telegraph confirmed the news citing a source close to the WBO welterwight champion, who even hinted that Mayweather was set to officially announce the formal staging of the fight during the NBA All-Star Game at the Madison Square Garden.

However, speaking to David Aldridge of TNT, Mayweather debunked the reports and said, "That's not true. It's just a speculation and rumor."

The current WBA and WBC welterweight champion even said that neither of the camps formally made the agreement.

"I haven't signed yet. He hasn't signed yet," Mayweather continued.

However, he remained optimistic that the fight he wanted to take place on May 2 will push through as scheduled.

"I'm hopeful that we can make the fight happen. I'm Mayweather. We have to make that happen in May," Mayweather vowed.

Last month, the two boxers met and even exchanged numbers during an NBA game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Miami Heat. Pacquiao, who became a judge for the Miss Universe pageant, decided to watch the game as his flight back to Pasay was canceled.

Both Pacquiao and Mayweather, despite being boxing superstars, have strong ties with basketball.

Aside from watching the NBA All-Star Game, Mayweather is also a big fan of the Heat.

Pacquiao, on the other hand, coaches the Kia Carnival in the Philippines' top-tier basketball league PBA. He also manages the MP Hotel team in the second-tier PBA D-League.
