Nokia 1520 Release Date Announced for India Tomorrow
The Nokia 1520 release could be as early as tomorrow for customers in India. The company's India based Twitter count hinted at the imminent launch earlier today. Nokia tweeted out a picture of what looks to be the 1520 with a message at the bottom that read, "Guess who is coming tomorrow."
Nokia did not reveal anything about the price, but it will probably cost somewhere around 40,000-45,000 INR. The device launched in the U.S. in Nov. and has been a moderate success for the company.
The Lumia 1520 is the first 6-Inch Windows Phone tablet and will be a direct competitor for the Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One Max. Off-contract prices can be found in the online Microsoft Store.

Specs for this new Lumia include a 6-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 32GB build-in memory, and a microSD card slot. It also features a 20-megapixel camera that has the ability to shoot photos at 5-megapixel and 16-megapixel resolution simultaneously.
The Lumia 1520 boots Windows Phone 8 with the new GDR3 update. This update includes a Driving Mode feature designed to mute calls and texts automatically when paired by Bluetooth to a car. The software comes with Rotation lock and improved multitasking changes along with support for custom sounds on text, voice mail, email, and reminders. It allows Windows Phone 8 users to restore from backup using Wi-Fi during the initial setup.
The phablet market has become quite competitive over the last year with different players entering the game such as the HTC One Max and Sony Xperia Z. Nokia took a risk by introducing a Windows powered model and the rest mostly run Android.
