Nokia Lumia 1020 2 Specs and Features Rumors Online: Alleged Successor to Be Microsoft McLaren?

Last summer, the Lumia 1020 was shown to the public with a "bulbous" 41-megapixel camera riding its back. The phone was received with mixed feelings. Some frowned at the thought of its bulkiness while the photography-inclined individuals rejoiced seeing it.

Until that unveiling, Microsoft hasn't been releasing any major follow-up yet. However, new rumors now indicated that the company might be offering its fans something new.

TaoBao, a Chinese auction website was recently cited posting a "prototype image" of a silver Lumia handset appearing to bear resemblance to the Lumia 1020 with a sleeker aluminum body but still with raised camera housing.

Phone Arena, among other tech-related websites, indicated that the device that was put up for auction is listed with the tag "Nokia RM – 1052." The device was also branded on the back with the following words: "Prototype Property of Microsoft – Mobile" and "Not for Sale."

The info screen (translated) also revealed that the device has a quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and a 1080p display resolution.

The display size, as what has been speculated, measures around five inches.

The leak was then spotted on Reddit and from there, the tech rumor was picked up by several other sites saying that the "mystery device" might actually be Microsoft's rumored McLaren device, which as reported, the company has cancelled back in July.

The McLaren was, according to Gizmodo, was supposedly to test out the "3D Touch" technology – a new tech said to enable a motion gesture and Kinect-style interactions with the phone.

As of publication date, there has been no official announcement debunking or confirming the mentioned rumor.
