Nokia Lumia 730 vs Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Comparison: Specs, Features Review

Though Nokia is now owned by Microsoft, the company continues to release Lumia phones as they continue to be one of the most in-demand phones around. The Lumia 730 is a dual SIM phone that is a hit in the Asian market. Meanwhile, though Samsung appears to be bigger, better, and more costly with each flagship phone release, it hasn't forgotten its midrange line such as the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime.

Here, we pit the two budget-friendly phones against each other—The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime vs the Lumia 730.

Design:
The Grand Prime has a fairly conservative design. It has a rectangular shape with rounded corners and a mock metal frame. The plastic back cover is removable and comes in white and gray variants. The smartphone measures 5.7 x 2.84 x 0.34 inches and weighs 5.50 ounces.

The Lumia 730 has a more modern feel to it, due to its sharp corners and it comes in white, orange, green and black. The back of the phone is glossy, and the phone measures 5.3 x 2.7 x 0.34 inches and weighs 4.60 ounces.

Features:
When it comes to the display, the Lumia 730 wins with its 4.7-inch OLED screen made of Gorilla Corning Glass 3 and has a resolution of 720 x 1280, compared to the Galaxy Grand Prime which has a 5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels with 220ppi. The Lumia having a layer of Corning Glass makes it more durable than the Grand Prime.

The Grand Prime is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with 1GB of RAM and runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The Lumia comes with a quad-core Cortex-A7 processor with 1GB RAM and runs on Microsoft Windows 8.1 OS.

Both phones come with 8GB of internal storage, but the Lumia's memory can be expanded up to 128GB, while the Grand Prime can be expanded to 64GB.

The Grand Prime has an 8MP rear camera, while the Lumia 730 is equipped with a 6.7MP rear snapper. Both phones have a 5MP front-facing camera.

Price:
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime costs $240, while the Nokia Lumia 730 costs $250.
