Nokia News 2015: Finnish Manufacturer to Make Grand Comeback in Mobile Market Next Year

Last year, Microsoft officially bought the mobile division of Nokia in the hope of manufacturing devices that would finally put the Windows Phone OS at par with perennial favourites Android and iOS.

Unfortunately, things did not go according to plan, and for the last several months, there have been several thousands of lay-offs on the Nokia mobile department at Microsoft.

Good thing Nokia could once again return to the mobile market.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the once mighty Nokia is allegedly looking for a new partner that would help it build a new device that it will offer to the market. As the report puts it, the Finnish manufacturer is searching for a manufacturer that will 'take on the heavy lifting' in its return to the smartphone market.

Before 2014 ended, Nokia surprised everyone when it announced its first ever Android tablet, the Nokia N1 Tablet. In this project, the company worked with Foxconn, and it looks like the company is planning to have a long-time partner in producing new devices.

Unfortunately, the Finnish brand can only release new smartphones under the Nokia brand name late in 2016, as stated in their agreement with Microsoft during the buyout.

While people would most probably see a new Nokia smartphone late next year, there isn't stopping Nokia in making announcements, unveiling new details, and keeping the excitement high for Nokia loyalists throughout the year.

In the report, fans may expect some updates in the July 28 event to be held in Los Angeles, the IFA event in Berlin, and even the CES and MWC showcases early next year.
