The Tar Heels have been one of the most successful teams of modern times, and since 2005 they have won two national titles and made the Elite Eight six times. They are a side that is always there competing at the top. However, today they have the Villanova Wildcats standing between them and a spot in the third round.

No. 8 seeded North Carolina will be coming to the Sprint Center in Kansas City knowing they have to deliver the goods if they are to progress. They finished the season unranked, and made their third straight appearance in the ACC title game before an 87-77 loss to Miami.

Two big players they will be looking to perform tonight will be P.J. Hairston and James Michael McAdoo. Hairston has scored in double figures in 16 straight games, helping North Carolina to go 11-5 in that period. If he can continue that good form then North Carolina will be in with a good chance at taking the game tonight.

Meanwhile, Villanova will be looking to keep focus and not make needless mistakes. Against Louisville recently they gave up 24 turnovers, and shot 2 for 12 from the three point line. They will need to be better than that tonight or they could be on their way home early from the tournament.

North Carolina vs Villanova will tip off at 7.20 p.m. ET and can be watched on TNT. Or alternatively the game can be watched online through free live stream by clicking here.
